The book “Quiet” talks a lot about this and the “extraversión ideal” in global western cultures. Great read for those curious about this research

In other words, most people are sheep easily lead astray by sociopaths.

My impression is that it is a "spectrum", I know a particular person who is not very conscientious and may or may not seem agreeable to you depending on who you are. (Confront him about his lack of competence and boy he gets angry)

He will put an honest effort into material handling tasks but has a way of screwing up the details, even if the work isn't detail-oriented, and people are often worried that he'll make a mistake.

The thing is he is very popular with the young ladies, he tends to burn them out over the course of a year or so, but he always has more waiting in the wing. My impression is that his bravado is attractive, as he communicates a sense of calm. Another guy I know who is much more conscientious is a bit of a worrier, he worries that he'll be accused of "toxic masculinity" and he probably will (because his worrying shows) but that guy who's maybe 60% sociopath will get a pass from the same women who'd accuse the other of "toxic masculinity."
